Summary
Puppy Dog Spa & Salon Daycare is a gentle pet-care game for young players, bundling bathing, grooming, dress-up, and vet care into a set of bite-sized activities. Its adorable art and simple controls are its strongest points, but player reviews raise serious concerns about frequent ads and an ad-removal purchase that reportedly doesn’t work.
Gameplay
According to the developer, the game is built around 10 levels and mini-games, each focused on a care theme: puppy feeding, home decoration, music and play, food and treats, spa bath, style salon, storytime, vet and dental care, playground fun, and mini-game challenges.
Play is tap-and-drag: pick a puppy, then work through steps like bubble baths, hair styling, and choosing outfits and accessories. The goal is a relaxing, ASMR-style care experience, and the developer highlights readable fonts and clear contrast for accessibility. A few players mention that some steps feel fiddly or that progress like a chosen outfit didn’t stick.
Progression & Meta
There’s no deep progression system; instead, players return to the mini-games freely. Longer-term goals center on decorating the daycare with beds, toys, and play spaces and dressing up different puppies.
The amount of content is modest, and some reviewers say the activities start to feel repetitive. Some outfits and items appear to be unlocked by watching ads.
Monetization & Ads
The game is free to download with ads and in-app purchases ranging from $2.49 to $3.99 per item in the US store, including an ad-removal option.
Ads are expected in free kids’ games like this, but here they’re the dominant theme in reviews, with players saying ads interrupt activities frequently. More concerning, multiple players across regions report that ads kept appearing after paying to remove them. That goes beyond the genre norm and is worth weighing before making a purchase.
Who Is It For?
Best suited to young children who love puppies and enjoy simple, hands-on activities. Many parents in reviews say it’s a nice way to introduce kids to the basics of pet care.
Families with very young players should know that frequent ads can be frustrating for kids who can’t dismiss them on their own. Players looking for a deeper simulation or lots of content will likely find it thin.
